In 2013 I was tasked with the redesign of the Doist brand. A very low profile brand of the team behind Todoist. The brief was to keep it low profile but to make it professional and modern.
After an initial stage of experimentation, the checkmark arose as a symbol for doing/clearing a task, a concept that is embedded into the name do(ist).
Part of the design process. The s was clearly the tricky one.
With the precious advice of Khoi Vinh (amazing designer and UX guru), I was able to go from a simple insertion of a checkmark into a word to a full logo, where all the letters were designed based on the same grid.
Even though it was replaced in late 2016, I'm still proud of what was achieved in this project and very grateful for everything I learned.
